Simone Mousset

Simone Mousset ( trained in London at the Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, the Royal Academy of Dance, and the London Contemporary Dance School. She was part of the London Contemporary Dance School’s postgraduate dance company EDge under the artistic direction of Jeanne Yasko, founder of Norrdans dance company.

Simone has performed in works by Sasha Waltz (restaged for EDge), Rachel Lopez de la Nieta, Ben Ash and Henrietta Hale, Matthias Sperling, Akane Abe, Krišjānis Sants, Hannah Ma, Jean-Guillaume Weis and Anu Sistonen. She has also worked with James Wilton, Tony Adigun, Igor Urzelai and Moreno Solinas, and trained with the Virsky Ukrainian National Folk Dance Ensemble. She was a permanent member of the Caracalla Dance Theatre in Lebanon, where she also taught company class (to a mix of ballet dancers, contemporary dancers, folk dancers, gymnasts), and acted as choreographic assistant to the artistic director Abdel-Halim Caracalla. She has performed throughout Europe as well as in Russia, Ukraine, Lebanon, Oman and Algeria.

In 2015, Simone started to collaborate with Elisabeth as well as creating her own choreographic work and continuing to perform. So far, her work has been shown in Luxembourg, Germany, Italy, London, and most recently during TalenLAB#16 at the Grand Théâtre of Luxembourg. During the 4 weeks of the LAB, she was mentored by Belgian choreographer Koen Augustijnen.

As a qualified teacher, Simone is particularly interested in contexts where ballet and contemporary dance overlap. She taught ballet and contemporary dance classes as well as choreographic workshops internationally, including for the Royal Academy of Dance’s undergraduate dance programme, The Place’s youth dance company SHIFT (London), the Novosibirsk State Ballet College (Russia), the Caracalla Dance Theatre company and its school (Lebanon), the Danish National School of Performing Arts (Copenhagen), SEAD Salzburg (Austria), University of Plymouth, Weymouth College (UK), Youth Dance Birr (Ireland), the Centre de Création Chorégraphique Luxembourgeois and the Conservatoire de Luxembourg. She has also taught on intensive dance courses in Portugal and in the USA. Simone has also worked as movement coach with actors and singers.
